Constructivism

May 12, 2010

As a primary French Immersion teacher, I have always found it challenging to connect with other educators in my field to share resources and ideas. As teachers, we never have enough hours or energy in the day to find the time to share what we do in our classrooms, to share resources or to share concerns. Sure I’ve communicated with family and friends on social networks but I have recently been expanding my network to educational virtual communities with other educators in French Immersion and technology around the world. What a fabulous means of staying current and learning from others while in the comfort of your own home after a day of teaching. After teaching 26 years in primary French Immersion, expanding my network to other educators who have the same interests as me has enriched my teaching. I am eager to share the new technology available and communicating with other educators has encouraged me stay current and has sparked me to learn and share with others all around the world. I am excited to learn and just as excited to share with others ! I have recently discovered Smart Board Exchange and am eager to create and share some lessons too. Are you searching for virtual education communities? Edublog and Educators PLN are definitely sites to explore. My goal is to not only read but begin to share resources, opinions and lessons with other educators via the internet! Now how exciting is that!
